Provide essential health services in a well-established K-12 school setting as a full-time School Nurse for a 12-week leave coverage assignment. This role supports student well-being across multiple school buildings, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment.
Position Details
- Location: Camas, WA
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7.5 hours per day (includes a 0.5-hour unpaid break)
- Duration: Immediate start through mid-February (approximately February 20)
- Coverage: Two primary schools on the same campus and one middle school with occasional travel between sites
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive daily nursing care tailored to student health needs across three schools
- Administer medications, including lunch-time and emergency rescue medications
- Support students with asthma and other chronic health conditions through ongoing health monitoring
- Respond promptly to first aid needs and other student health concerns during school hours
- Collaborate with school teams by participating in 504 plans and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to facilitate appropriate health accommodations
Desired Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, families, and school staff
- Ability to manage multiple school sites and coordinate care efficiently
- Knowledge of school health policies and applicable regulations
